Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of all products and services provided by Darrel Technologies Ltd ("DT", "we", "us", "our"), including but not limited to web hosting, virtual servers, dedicated servers, domains, messaging, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By using the Services, you ("Customer", "you", "your") agree to comply with this AUP, our Web Hosting Terms of Service, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy. This AUP is incorporated by reference into those agreements.

1. Lawful Use

You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of Ghana and any other applicable jurisdiction.

2. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on DT's infrastructure. This list is non-exhaustive.

  • Phishing, impersonation, or deception, including: misleading websites, look-alike domains, deceptive redirects, or any attempt to collect login credentials, personal data, or financial information without lawful authorization.
  • Malicious software, including malware, trojans, ransomware, spyware, botnets, cryptominers, or command-and-control infrastructure.
  • Unauthorized access or interference, including hacking, brute-force attacks, port scanning, exploitation of vulnerabilities, or attempts to access systems without permission.
  • Spam or unsolicited messaging, including bulk email, SMS, messaging abuse, spamvertised websites, or operating open relays or anonymizing proxies.
  • Fraud or scams, including fake institutions, investment fraud, Ponzi or pyramid schemes, HYIPs, or deceptive funding or grant applications.
  • Copyright or trademark infringement, including pirated software, warez, cracked accounts, or unauthorized distribution of protected material.
  • Illegal or harmful content, including child sexual exploitation material (zero tolerance), illegal drugs, or content promoting violence or illegal activities.
  • Abuse of shared resources, including use of shared hosting as a general backup/archive service, excessive resource consumption, or running prohibited background processes.

3. Security & Account Responsibility

You are responsible for securing your account, credentials, applications, and hosted content. All actions performed under your account are deemed your responsibility, whether authorized by you or resulting from compromised credentials.

DT may monitor systems and traffic for lawful purposes, including abuse prevention, security, and operational integrity. Use of the Services constitutes consent to such monitoring.

4. Abuse Reports & Enforcement

Suspected abuse may be reported to abuse@dtechghana.com. DT investigates abuse reports and may request clarification or remediation from the Customer.

DT reserves the right to take immediate action where we reasonably believe that content or activity poses risk to users, third parties, DT, or the stability of our infrastructure. Such actions may include, without limitation:

  • Disabling access to content or services
  • Temporary suspension of accounts or domains
  • Preservation of logs and evidence
  • Permanent termination of services
  • Notification of registries, regulators, or law enforcement where appropriate

Failure to respond to abuse inquiries within 48 hours (or sooner where the issue is urgent) may result in suspension or termination.

5. No Circumvention

You may not attempt to bypass enforcement actions, monitoring, rate limits, or safeguards imposed by DT. Attempts to re-provision suspended services under alternate accounts may result in immediate termination.

6. Reservation of Rights

DT reserves the right to interpret and enforce this AUP in its reasonable discretion. DT's failure to enforce any provision at any time does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

7. Changes to This Policy

DT may update this AUP from time to time by posting a revised version on our website. Continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
