Legal and Regulatory Policy

This Legal and Regulatory Policy outlines Darrel Technologies Ltd's ("DT", "we", "us", "our") approach to legal compliance, regulatory cooperation, and lawful requests relating to the use of our products and services.

1. Compliance with Applicable Law

DT operates in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana and applicable international legal obligations. Customers are responsible for ensuring that their use of DT's services complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

2. Regulated and Sensitive Services

Certain activities—such as financial services, educational institutions, healthcare services, telecommunications, and payment processing—may be subject to additional regulatory requirements. Customers operating in regulated sectors are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining any required licenses, approvals, or authorizations.

DT may request documentation to verify lawful authority where services or domains appear to represent regulated or sensitive entities (e.g. banks, schools, government bodies).

3. Abuse, Fraud, and Security Investigations

DT investigates reports of phishing, impersonation, fraud, malware, and other prohibited activities in line with our Acceptable Use Policy. Where appropriate, we may take immediate action to suspend or terminate services to prevent harm.

4. Law Enforcement and Regulatory Requests

DT may disclose customer information, account data, traffic logs, or content to law enforcement, regulators, registries, or competent authorities where:

  • Required by law, court order, or valid legal process
  • Necessary to investigate suspected illegal activity or abuse
  • Required to protect DT, our customers, or the public

Unless prohibited by law, DT will make reasonable efforts to notify affected customers of such disclosures.

5. Data Retention

DT retains logs, records, and customer data only for as long as necessary to operate services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the data and applicable legal requirements.

6. International Access

DT operates from Ghana. Access to DT services from other jurisdictions is at the user's own initiative and risk. Users are responsible for compliance with local laws where services are accessed.

7. Policy Updates

DT may update this Legal and Regulatory Policy from time to time. Updates will be published on this page and become effective immediately upon posting.
