First Stop, Tema: How We Kicked Off the sERP Training Engagement for SOS Hermann Gmeiner Schools Ghana
When we set out to deploy sERP across SOS Hermann Gmeiner Schools Ghana, we knew the training engagement would be the moment it all became real. Not the contract. Not the go-live. The moment staff sat down, logged in for the first time, and started navigating a system that would soon be part of how they do their jobs every day.
Tema was where that moment first happened — and it set the tone for everything that followed.
With 83 staff in attendance, Tema was by far the largest single training day of the engagement. Administrative staff, finance teams, and teaching staff all came through in structured, role-based sessions across the day — each group trained on the modules most relevant to how they'd actually use the platform. Super administrators from across all four school locations joined an early morning session covering multi-campus configuration, user management, and cross-location reporting — a fittingly strategic way to open the day.
What stood out in Tema wasn't just the numbers. It was the engagement. Laptops open, questions sharp, staff walking through the system side by side — the kind of hands-on energy you can't script. By the end of the day, we had covered student management, academic workflows, attendance, fees, communications, and more. By the time the teaching staff sessions wrapped in the afternoon, the room felt less like a training session and more like a handover.

That's what good onboarding looks like.
From Tema, the road led to Asiakwa, then Kumasi, then Tamale. But it started here — and the foundation it laid made everything else easier.
